Many today call Christians superstitious, that our Bible is nothing more than fables, our God an invention of the mind. These same people tend to put science on a pedestal and bow to the false god of humanism.

King Herod, tormented by guilt after having John the Baptist beheaded, believed Jesus was John the Baptist raised from the dead. Never mind that Jesus’ public ministry was well underway and that John baptized Jesus. But Herod didn’t have the gospels to refer to, so we can excuse his ignorance. He’d have been closer to the truth if he simply believed Jesus was a prophet.

Others believed Jesus was Elijah – maybe reincarnated? Another superstition.

Who do you say Jesus is? Some of those today who call the Bible a fable deny Jesus ever existed! Too bad, because Jesus is painfully aware that they exist, and He grieves for their lack of belief.

Our guilt, our past experiences, our belief in false gods and superstition – none of those change the fact that Jesus Christ was the one and only Son of God, born miraculously of a virgin, who preached, “the kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the Good News!” (Mark 1:15Mark 1:15

Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

That’s who Jesus Christ is – no room for superstitions here!
